New Board Members for ITOC
Date: 10 July 2007

NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR INBOUND TOUR OPERATORS COUNCIL

Three new directors have been elected to the board of the Inbound Tour Operators Council of New Zealand (ITOC).

Mr Jun Hiyoshi, Managing Director of JTB New Zealand Ltd, Auckland and Mr Simon Watson, Manager International Inbound of Tourism Holdings Ltd, Auckland take up board positions reserved for full member tour operators.

Mr Mark Oldershaw, Chief Executive of the NZ Hotel Council, Wellington, takes up a position allocated to allied members in the accommodation sector.

The ITOC board comprises eleven elected members and all members must seek re-nomination each year. In a recently completed nomination process there were an equal number of nominations to available positions on the board, making a formal election unnecessary.

Three members of the current board did not stand for re-election: Ms Jennie Langley (allied accommodation category), Mr Kiyomi Gunji and Mr Stuart Neels (full tour operator member category). Mr Neels will remain on the board as Immediate Past President, replacing the outgoing Immediate Past President, Mr Don Gunn, General Manager of Destination Rotorua Tourism Marketing.

The new board takes effect at the forthcoming ITOC AGM to be held after the ITOC Conference in the Bay of Islands on 3 August. A President and two Vice Presidents (full and allied) will be elected by the board after the AGM.

The new full board is:

Board Members Representing Full Tour Operator Members

o Mr Dominic Cheng (Winchester Travel, Auckland)

o Mr Brian Henderson (Tourmasters South Pacific, Auckland)

o Mr Jun Hiyoshi (JTB New Zealand, Auckland)

o Mr Martin Horgan (Southern World Vacations, Christchurch)

o Mr Jim Monahan (Travel Time South Pacific, Hamilton)

o Mr Warren Harford (Agrodome Leisure Park, Rotorua)

o Mr Mark Quickfall (Totally Tourism, Queenstown)

Immediate Past President

o Mr Stuart Neels (ATS Pacific, Auckland)

Co-opted board members remain Mr Grant Lilly (Qantas) and Ms Jenny Simpson (Air New Zealand).
